Falling Forward Into 2021: The Craft Beer Industry And Its Pandemic Supply Chain Challenges

In early April 2020, Professor Sam Holloway warned his brewery clients that aluminum cans were likely to be in short supply and they should shift their spending to increasing can inventory. Some listened, some didn't, but as of December 2020, now everyone knows the can supply won't cover demand until at least Q3 2021. To put this into numbers - the United States is short 10 Billion Cans. Holloway's network, composed of over 800 breweries across 22 countries, offers a sobering challenge as brewing entrepreneurs large and small plan for 2021. He will detail how he is working with his Crafting A Strategy global network of brewers to develop new innovations and tweak supply chains to survive and even open up new channels and new customer groups.
