Carlos Mena

Carlos Mena Eng. D. is an Assistant Professor in Supply Chain Management at Portland State University. Dr. Carlos Mena received his Doctorate degree from the University of Warwick (UK). Prior to joining PSU, Dr. Mena worked for Michigan State University and for Cranfield University in the UK. The focus of his research is the impact of supply chain management practices on economic, social and environmental performance.  He has more than 25 refereed publications to his name, as well as two books entitled “Leading Procurement Strategy” and “Delivering Performance in Food Supply Chains”.  Dr. Mena will be teaching a variety of courses in Supply Chain Management at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Upon hire, Dr. Mena was awarded the School of Business Nike Professorship of Supply Chain Management.

We’re excited to host Dr. Mena, the newest professor in Portland State University’s Supply Chain Management Program! Dr. Mena will be speaking about “Supply Chain Leadership”.  An exciting topic where he’ll show us how leadership in a supply chain context is different to leadership in other functions of the business because it can influence the entire supply chain, not just a single organization.  He will present us all with a unique and particularly relevant challenge to take back into our organizations.
