Speaker Bio
Jarvez Hall, an Oregon native, is the Executive Director of the East Metro Economic Alliance, an organization that promotes the economic vitality of the East Metro region of Oregon. Javez is also the Proprietor of J.D.Hall and Associates, LLC. A company he started in 2013 that provides strategic consulting to nonprofit organizations and is an adjunct instructor in the School of Management at Concordia University in Portland. Jarvez has a wide array of experience and education. He completed his undergraduate degree in Business from Oregon State University (OSU) where he was a member football and was a member of the 2001 Pac-10 Co-Championship team which defeated Notre Dame in the Fiesta Bowl. He completed his formal education with an MBA from Willamette University focusing on Business, Government, and Not-for-Profit Management.
Jarvez has worked in education and government initially up to and beyond graduation which included positions at OSU, Chemeketa, Clackamas and Portland Community Colleges, and the City of Portland in multiple capacities. Jarvez currently serves as an Adjunct Instructor in Business Administration for Portland State University and Portland Community College while also serving as a Business Advisor/Instructor at the SMall Business Development Center at PCC. He has owned and operated three small businesses in Portland and Corvallis, and continues to be active in the entrepreneurship community. Over the past five years, Jarvez has been increasingly active in the business advocacy community including spending time consulting for Small Business Majority, a national small business advocacy, education and research organization based in Washington, DC. Jarvez also serves on the board of three nonprofit organizations, Tender Loving Care-Think 'N Try, Sickle Cell Anemia Foundation of Oregon and the Oregon Small Business Fair.
